Been Adding to the Lolee Planet while trying out the Flickr photo service. It has turned out pretty well with the help of the plugin provided by Silas Partners (Joe Tan)
Check out my Flickr Albums and blogs all at once. Granted most of the photos are of Laifu.

One more quick word; Happy Lunar New Year to All. Let the New Year begin in good fortune!

Welcome to the new look LoLee Planet =)

I thought it was about time to change the look of the site. Its pretty slick… Thanks to the creators of this theme

More to come in the near future

With most computers, its like driving a car off the dealership lot; lose money the moment you take the car. Computers fall into the same analogy. As soon as you take the computer home or have it delivered to your house, its essentially worth nothing. Good luck trying to sell any 1 year old computer component thats been used. AMD 3800+, ATI 9600 cards… what are those?

Apple computers fall into a weird niche where its ok to buy a 2 year old computer. Who would have thought that? Just as an example, my 2 year old powerbook which I bought for under $2000 can be sold on ebay for roughly $800 CAD. Thats with 1 hour to go in the auction.

Maybe spending the extra $1000 to upgrade my laptop will actually benefit www.loleeplanet.com. Or maybe thats my brain trying to convince me to upgrade my laptop. I’m sure all the mac-whoring in my office isn’t helping :/

I’ve resigned to the fact that building my own blogging system will take forever. So I am no longer inventing the better wheel. I’ve used WordPress, as my blogging system, and it seems to do everything pretty well. Its kinda scary how close the back-end is to my would be blogging system.

One thing I had to alter was the database class, along with the database’s character set. This was needed to store the chinese characters properly in the mysql database. Other than that, it has been trouble free.

I have also added an image gallery. I need to find a way to combine the two systems so they actually look like they’re part of the same website. Maybe i’ll get to that next year
