In the new xbox 360, everyone creates a profile before starting any game. What I found out yesterday was that if this profile name is not unique within the xbox live realm, ALL YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS WILL BE LOST!!! With an xbox live signup, there needs to be a unique gamertag which acts the same as the profile. Essentially, Everything I’ve played for the last two months are lost within the xbox live market place because none of my points are switched over to my new gamertag. No where during the xbox live signup process does it state that the off-line profile is not being switched to the new xbox live gamertag. I could have had many tv episodes downloaded from the marketplace, but now I’m just left with trailers and commercials.
On the upside, that means I need to play more xbox360. What an evil marketing scheme
